Train for commercial inspection work with our ICC Commercial Building Inspector course. This program is designed for students preparing for commercial building inspections and ICC exam testing, with a focus on the codes and inspection concepts used on commercial projects. ICC credentials are national certifications, recognized in Texas and across the U.S.

What you’ll learn
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand how commercial codes are organized and how to locate requirements quickly
- Identify major commercial building systems and key inspection points
- Apply code concepts to real-world commercial inspection scenarios

Depending on the ICC exam focus and class schedule, instruction commonly covers:
- Commercial building planning and structural systems
- Fire and life safety fundamentals (exits, egress concepts, occupancy basics)
- Building envelope concepts (walls, roofs, openings)
- Interior finishes and inspection checkpoints
- Basics of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as they relate to inspections
- Accessibility concepts and common field issues
- Test-taking strategy and code navigation skills
